PKF Octagon is a SAICA accredited training office and offers training contracts to postgraduates with an accredited postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Science (CTA or equivalent).

We provide a comprehensive and structured formal training programme under the tutelage of a highly skilled and dedicated training and development team. Minimum requirements:
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences (CTA level 2) or currently enrolled for CTA Level 2
  • An outstanding academic record
  • Mathematics Core and Accounting subjects in Matric
  • Must have passed all exams on the first attempt and achieved average results of 65% in Bachelor of Accounting Science degree
  • Previous work experience (vacation/temporary/volunteer) in finance or accounting department, preferably in an audit firm
  • Own vehicle and a drivers’ licence
  • Must be a South African citizen

Audit Manager

Backed by your experience, impressive accounting abilities and a CA (SA) qualification, you are our ideal candidate if you meet the following requirements:

Qualifications & experience
  • Must be a CA (SA)
  • Must have 2 years of post-articles experience, of which 1 year is in an Audit Manager role
  • Strong knowledge of Caseware
Key duties & responsibilities
In addition to managing trainee accountants, the successful applicant will be required to :
  • Plan, conduct and complete the audit function from start to finish, accurately and in a timeous manner.
  • Set clear objectives and plan activities for each trainee accountant per audit.
  • Ensure that each audit is completed in accordance with the budgets and deadlines set by the Partners.
  • Ensure that each audit is conducted in a manner that creates a profitable outcome.
  • Review audit staff’s working papers and ensure a quality of output at all times.
  • Ensure that the working papers are effectively prepared and finalised in accordance with the quality requirements.
  • Produce Client Reports at the end of each audit which is in line with the firms reporting requirements, are relevant, and accurate.
  • Finalise each audit file in accordance with the required quality and standards and propose an audit opinion.
  • Following each audit, ensure that clients are satisfied with the service received.
  • Review Trainee Accountants’ SAICA TSR/PSRs.
